Note: When you are prompted for a password, check the details in the dialog box. It could be that password for the already installed component is requested or it could be to set a new password for the current component being installed. To simplify this PoC I had used a standard password for all the needs. This would be acceptable since my lab is behind a firewall and is not exposed to the internet.
Installation was straightforward – execute the following command and respond to interactive queries as shown below which are self-explanatory.
apt install -y glance
Installation gets completed.
Basic verification of service installation.
wget https://download.cirros-cloud.net/0.5.2/cirros-0.5.2-x86_64-disk.img glance image-create --name "cirros" --file cirros-0.5.2-x86_64-disk.img --disk-format qcow2 --container-format bare --visibility=public
Enable the glance services to be started on server bootup.
systemctl enable glance-api
